Upper Hand Lager

Clean crisp malt aroma. Slightly sweet flavor that quickly crispens. Leaned taste buds slightly puckered but with a lingering clean malt taste. Very nice.

I was worried since this was the last of a 6 pack from summer. Brewed on 6/30/2015, drank for this review on 1/9/2016, so a little over 6 months old. Taste has held up well, though, with only a mild sweetness detectable that I don’t recall before.

Asahi Super Dry

Sweet aroma. Sharp bite combined with sweetness, which quickly fades and just leaves a kind of mouth-watering effect in your mouth. On bigger gulps, get a slight malt taste. Overall a big flavor rush that is fairly easy drinking. Got better add it warmed, killing of the overly sweet taste and just left the malt predominant. This 500ml can was from LCBO in Canada and labeling says it was actually brewed in Japan. Bought it on December 8th, date code on bottom reads “U/0126C H013”. I’m guessing that means Julian calendar date 126- or 126th day of the year.

Asahi Super Dry

Wolverine State Wolverine Premium Lager

Dry slightly sweet sharp odor, almost like apples. Mild flavor with a mush-mash of fruity flavor with a malty grainy, almost cereal-like aftertaste. I suppose it’s easy drinking, but with the strange flavor combinations, I’m not sure it’s tasty/enjoyable. Kudos to them for being unique and being a craft beer brewer that makes lagers rather than ales. But it seems more like someone making a turbo-only engine in a car because it’s unique, despite everyone else making internal combustion engine cars because they’re more practical. You don’t have taste on your side, just uniqueness.
