Bright, fresh aroma of hops, with a little bit of pine/resin. Slightly crisp hop bite on the palate that spreads out broadly to give tastes of both hops and malt. Full flavored, but not too bitter. Hops aftertaste lingers, then fades slowly.
Spicy, sharp, dark malt aroma with an alcohol aroma. Taste is very broad across the palate with a sweet softness. Finishes pretty clean with a slight malty sweetness. Slight hint of dark chocolate in the aftertaste, but not bitter or sweet, just kinda roasty.
Sweet, citrusy hop aroma. Fairly dry on the palate (yeast effect?) with a minor citrus sweetness. This gets replaced by a slightly caramel malt sweetness. Leaves the palate with a pleasant slight sweetness of malt and yeast work citrus hops hiding in background. Very pleasant.
Be sure to swirl the can to get any hop residue mixed up and into your glass.
Sweet dark malt aroma. Very smooth on the palate. Creamy mouthful with just a hint of dark malt that fades almost immediately just leaving the smooth creamy taste. Very easy to drink (4.2% ABV).
Bright hop aroma. Sweet hop flavor that’s flat and dry on the palate. Yeast flavor lingers briefly but overall palate is left clean with just hints of smooth malt.
Sweet hop aroma, almost sugary. Hop twang with a slight caramel malt backbone, and a slightly bitter hop edge in the aftertaste. This gives way to a flower hop flavor that them fades slowly.
Nice dark malt aroma. Taste is smooth, without a bite, with nice flavor. Flavor is broad with dark malt and some sweetness. Interesting combination of dark malt and rye. Finishes work very little lingering flavors after a bit of sweetness fades.
Slightly sweet aroma. Broad palate of flavors, but finishes very clean and with no apparent bite from hops. Slightly sweet aftertaste lingers a bit, but overall tastes fairly light. Surprising this is a 6.8% beer.
Thick sweet dark malt aroma. Very smooth and flavorful with a slight dryness like dark chocolate. Slight dark sweetness in the taste, but finishes very dry with just hints of mild malt flavor.
Amazing. These imperial stouts almost always have a bourbon burn- so much so, that I didn’t know you could make a 13% ABV imperial stout like this without bourbon!
5 out of 5 stars.
