Sweet malt aroma. Full flavored malt with a slightly sharp hop edge on the backside that leaves a lingering hop sweetness. Strange combination of malt flavor first followed by hop flavor- I’m used to the other way around. Can’t really tell the high alcohol percentage.
Slightly sweet aroma. Fairly wet, flat taste with a noticeable hop bite. As the drink goes down the chute, you can taste the oak flavors mix in along with a much stronger hop flavor. Finally there’s a slightly lingering alcohol burn for a brief moment.
Sweet aroma of whiskey or bourbon barrel. Fairly smooth taste up front, followed by a warm, dark sweetness. Fades out with a hint of dark malt aftertaste and a large alcohol sweetness/warmth. This bottle is probably 3 years old as I’m drinking it in Oct 2013 and the bottle has a twist cap. Founders ended that years ago. There was residue at the bottom that I poured out in the sink at the end of the bottle. Not sure if that was a sign of the age or not.
Sweet, dry, hoppy aroma. Crisp flavor bite quickly followed by sweetness. Fairly substantial hop flavor but quickly smacked by a maltiness that leaves little aftertaste but a mild lingering.
Mild dry sweetness aroma. Initially sweet flavor that gets quickly whacked by a clean malt taste that quickly kills any aftertaste other than a quick lingering of malt with a hint of hop sweetness.
Slight sweet aroma that becomes a strong sweet fresh grain taste as it gets close to the nose. Slightly hoppy taste with a bit of a bite at the end. Fades into a malty taste that’s fairly mild but has hints of graininess to it.
