Faint aroma of hops. Very muted flavor of hops (probably due to the unfortunate age of this can), plus some mild malt flavor. Fairly clean aftertaste.

Bright fruity hops aroma. Slightly tangy initial taste, backed by balanced fruity hops flavor. No real hop aftertaste and no overbearing chalky yeast flavor like other Russian River beers.

Bright, sweet hop aroma. Full flavor of hops but without a bitter bite. Almost tastes like fruit juice mixed in. Aftertaste has some residual hop bitterness and sweetness.

Strong sweet aroma of hops and yeast. Slightly crisp hop bite that gives way to yeast flavors with a hint of pale malt in the background. Leaves palate fairly clean, with moderate hop taste lingering.

Deschutes Black Butte XXXVI
Faint soft aroma almost like a mild fruit. Fairly substantial flavor bite at first of dark malt and yeast sweetness that gradually fades down to just a moderate clean malt taste.
The label says with chocolate and peanut butter. Can’t really taste the peanut butter, but maybe that gives some of the lingering nuttiness. As it warms, hints of the bourbon barrel sneaks in. But still very smooth.
Doesn’t taste at all like 11.1%
