Bland, minor sweet aroma. Sharp bite followed by a moderate sweetness. Sweetness fades to a mild sour-like taste. Heavy carbonation leads to a big head in the glass and gives gassiness leading to near instant bloating. No thanks.
Sweet, dry hop aroma. Grainy, slightly raw hop flavor with a slight sweetness on the back. Fades smoothly with a faint hop flavor lingering. Bottled 9/4/13, drank on 10/30/2013.
Slightly sharp, dry-ish hop aroma. Sharp, cutting hop taste but not too strong or harsh. Leaves you with a light malt taste mixed with a moderate hop flavor. Bottled 10/2/13, drank on 10/29/13. I noticed the ABV is about 1% higher than last year’s. Listed as 70 IBU, not sure about last year.
Heavy sweet aroma like honey. Very interesting flavor when hitting the mouth with a bit of honey sweetness, a very fruity taste, then a solid clean malt taste. Overall, very interesting and refreshing, almost light tasting- but not like a light beer. Quite unique, in a good way.
Sweet malt aroma. Full flavored malt with a slightly sharp hop edge on the backside that leaves a lingering hop sweetness. Strange combination of malt flavor first followed by hop flavor- I’m used to the other way around. Can’t really tell the high alcohol percentage.
Nice fresh strong hop aroma. Grabs taste buds aggressively with a full mouth hop flavor. Hop flavor slowly fades out and lanes you with a slightly harsh but sweet hop flavor that fades ever so slowly… Until your taste buds demand another drink and the cycle starts again.
Slightly sweet aroma. Fairly wet, flat taste with a noticeable hop bite. As the drink goes down the chute, you can taste the oak flavors mix in along with a much stronger hop flavor. Finally there’s a slightly lingering alcohol burn for a brief moment.
Thick sweet aroma. High alcohol sweetness immediately hits your mouth. Fades out to a moderate hop sweetness which tangentially gives way to a mild malt taste. Bottle says 112 IBU, but doesn’t have the typical hoppiness, probably because of the heavy alcohol content. Not very pleasant. Unfortunate I spent about $6/bottle. Says it was bottled 16 months ago, on 6/18/12. Oh well, I’ll save my money next time.
Dry aroma with a minor hint of hops. Taste has a moderate hop bite followed quickly by sweetness. Good balance of hops and malt comes in then fades out slowly. Leaves the mouth with a nice balanced flavor with hops winning out slightly. Not anything Canadian I’ve had before, actually has a unique strong flavor with nice hoppiness.
4 out of 5 Stars.
